I like to think of myself as a savvy communications professional. Partly because I’ve always loved the word “savvy,” but also because I’ve spent the past two-plus decades sharpening my words and ideas to get the right message to the right people at the right time.
My energy comes from creating and implementing strategy and tactics that cause people to take action. I’ve honed my skills from social media to speech writing to total-package campaigns (and everything in between) and developed a keen sense for flexing my tone.
Not many people get to do what they love and get paid for it. I’m lucky. I’ve had a lot of good people in my corner. I’ve put in my time. Taken risks. Gotten it wrong sometimes. And learned to be better for it.
The words “impossible,” “can’t,” and “won’t,” are my fuel.
I’ve been both a “Jill of All Trades” communications department of one and a c-suite leader of 16. I hold a bachelor’s degree in English and journalism from Franklin College, Franklin, Indiana, and I earned my accreditation in public relations from the Public Relations Society of America. That wasn’t easy.
